HabiTable 2.3

Degrowth: growing a sustainable economy

Location: Online

We’re back for another virtual session of HabiTable! This time, we’ll be tackling the topic of Degrowth with our guest Unsu. After a short introduction to the topic, Marcus and Unsu will have a two-way interview on Degrowth, followed by a Q&A section with participants.

We find the Degrowth movement intrinsic for an imagination of a socially just and ecologically sustainable society. Degrowth ciriticises the paradigm of economic growth with an understanding that we live on a finite planet with finite resources. Instead, the movement advocates for a planned downscaling of the economy, and finding better indicators of progress beyond GDP.
