Farrer Drive Chickens

Our client wanted a maintenance-free chicken coop that produced a supply of fresh eggs while taking in their household’s food waste. We proposed a deep-litter chicken composting system whereby carbon is sourced within the residential compound in the form of dried leaves, while food waste and chicken manure forms ths nitrogen component. Through the chickens’ natural scratching action, the mixture is aerated and compost can be harvested in 6 months to be used in the rest of the garden (designed and built by Alika of Seedfolks).
