Jalan Senang Community Garden

An ongoing project nestled within our founder’s residential estate that explores using gardens as a multi-functional place to engage and foster community. We utilise the space to promote sustainable agriculture through volunteering experiences and monthly open houses for guided tours. An aerobic composting system provides an avenue for decentralised food-waste management in the neighbourhood, returning nutrients to the soil.

Upcoming projects include a natural pond and deep litter chicken coop. Check out a video feature on this garden here.

Featured Solution

We emphasise  building systems for growing native, perennial edible plants through a multi-layered food forest, raised beds and in-ground beds. Native plants are adapted to local climatic conditions, but have been disappearing in our diets in favour of imported, or artificially-grown tender leafy greens. In this educational space, we preserve local knowledge and traditions, fostering a connection between community members and their cultural heritage.
